Talley Student Center Food Services
Project Description (Updated September 17, 2009)
Plans for the renovation of Talley Student Center include construction of new food-service space. This plan will create 25,500 square feet of space for University Dining, with service capacity for 2000 or more students per meal period.
University Dining will do research with students to help determine the food venues that would best meet the needs of the campus. Options might include quick-service branded outlets like Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell, new choices with fresh salads, sandwiches, wraps, and deluxe burgers, an organic foods shop, coffee, and ice cream, all in stunning, sustainable facilities fitting for NC State University.
The Talley Student Center renovation will be the only opportunity to create significant new food choices on main campus. With rising enrollment already creating overcrowding at the Atrium, Talley, Clark Dining Hall, and Case Dining Hall, more food options are needed for main campus. Without the renovation of Talley Student Center to create new facilities for food, all main-campus eateries will continue to be overwhelmed, and the food locations at Talley will remain inadequate.
The new Talley Food Services would be designed by nationally known food-service designers Ricca and Associates, using input from today's students to create a unique dining environment perfect for our campus.
University Dining will provide significant funding for these improvements, and with additional funding support from the Rally for Talley student fee , will help craft services there that make Talley Student Center the perfect location for student interaction and support.
